Under the Real Property Appraiser Qualification Criteria (Criteria) issued by the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB), experience must have been obtained after January 30, 1989, and must be in compliance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).
States may create requirements that exceed the Criteria established by the AQB. Therefore, if the experience satisfied the two requirements stated above, you should check with your state appraiser regulatory agency to determine what aspect(s) of your experience did not satisfy their requirements.
